End of an era

Many, many thanks for all the messages of support, both in this morning's Breakfast Show, and in the phone calls and e-mails since. They're VERY much appreciated.

  1. What a crying shame. The whole family listened to you two every morning. We didn't phone or text, we just loved listening. You are both completely mad, but you were so good to wake up to. My little girl Sinead is heartbroken. Now we have to decide, Radio 1 or Radio 2?

Are Julian and James ever likely to be back?

  3. I'm currently presenting Solid Gold Sunday, every Sunday night between 7 and 10, while Julian continues to do his Saturday afternoon show for the time being. Jenny, are you something to do with the Farmers Market at Orton? Tracey, I've not heard your name before, where do you live?

No, but I saw you and your wife when you came up to do interviews at the market. We listen every day. Not happy!

  5. Hello James, we live near Mick Griffiths above Richmond. You used to meet him when he was a sergeant in Richmond

Couldn't Julian join you on a Sunday night? I reckon you would argue like cat and dog over the music! Any chance you two will be back?

  9. Geoff, if you listen on Sunday night, how come you've never entered our Mystery Music Challenge! Haven't heard from you for ages. Not sure Julian would appreciate being dragged out on a Sunday night. He's got enough on doing Saturdays, plus working all week as well. I imagine Matt and Sophie will be taking on the "public appearances"
